Catch the Vision

We are sisters, mothers, daughters, wives and friends. We are Catholic and Orthodox, sisters in Christ.

Together we write so that you might see that our vocation is beautiful, our call is from above, and our King is amazing!

Our mission is discipleship:
We desire to help you grow in the context of your very own family.

Our method is simple:
We write, speak, sing, and share with you what we have learned. You will notice a theme here: Dinner table Discipleship. Lunchtime Catechesis. Teatime Talks. Morning Prayer. Evening Prayer. The Family Rosary.... All is grace.

Our prayer is faithful:
That you would hear His voice, and answer Him as our Mother in the faith, Mary, once answered his angel:
"Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. " (Lk 1:38)

About Us:

I'm Barbie. I'm a Catholic revert....a bi-national (French and American) journalist and consultant, currently wrapping up a degree in psychology here in North Carolina. I write about spirituality, parapsychology, bushcraft and medical herbalism, Charlotte Mason education, and family life. Well, that's what I do-- but it's not who I am. I AM a homeschooling mother to four children and a devoted firewife.

Spiritual Tradition: I'm an Eastern Catholic blend, with heavy focus on biblical roots, Hebrew Catholic and Carmelite spirituality,  and on the Charismatic gifts brought about by baptism in the Holy Spirit. I guess I don't really fit into any existing "box," but that's me in a nutshell.
Favorite Scripture: I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living! (Ps 27:13)
Favorite Saint: St Josemaria Escrivà, Bl. Mariam Baouardy
Favorite Family Tradition: It's a tossup between Shabbat and family naps. :D

I am Angela. I  am a Catholic. Sort of recent convert. Mom to three amazing, and slightly odd children. Trying my best to not only check the "Catholic" box, but also to live the Catholic life. I am also divorced and a full time student. There's more, but this me...abridged.

Spiritual Tradition: Roman Catholic by way of Evangelicalism by way of Paganism/Agnosticism
Favorite Scripture: "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not harm, to give you a future and a hope."
Favorite Saint: Saint Mary Magdalen
Favorite Family Tradition: Family Rosary and Movie Theater Night

I'm Leah, a Catholic wife and mother, and I am looking forward to getting to know you.

Spiritual Tradition: I am a Catholic convert, raised Protestant. I married a Catholic man who stood at the door when I wanted to leave and said, "This is marriage, get used to it." The Holy Spirit stopped me in my tracks after years of arguing theology with my husband..."This is not what I planned for you"...and my husband sealed it when he said, "You want me to lead, but how can I when you won't let me?" This is when I began to look into the Catholic Church. I asked to show me Himself there and if I saw Him, I would go. I saw Him that day in a Priest who was speaking to our RCIA class. I still questioned a lot of things, but the struggle was released.
Favorite Scripture: "And he said, 'Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return; the Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.'" Job 1:21
Favorite Family Tradition: game night, big meals, hiking, and worshipping God together.

I'm Erin, a cradle Catholic with a cradle Catholic husband raising three cradle Catholic little girls. While I was raised in the Church, I did not fully understand or participate in my Catholic faith until I was in my twenties and started seriously studying the Bible and what we believe. Since becoming a mother, I have found that the only way to thrive is to completely offer all my worries, stress, challenges, and work to Jesus. While my three small children keep me busy, I enjoy reading, cooking, sewing, and talking with a good friend. I'm hoping to make some new good friends here!

Spiritual Tradition: Roman Catholic
Favorite Scripture: Matthew 6:34 "Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil."
Favorite Saint: Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton
Favorite Family Tradition: Bedtime stories and prayers, Movie night, Football game parties

I am Elizabeth, a cradle Catholic who recently discovered the Traditional Latin Mass. I'm an army wife and mother to four little clanlings. I spend most of my time tending to our small domestic church, and finding ways to make life easier for my busy husband. Thankfully one if my hobbies is cooking or baking so it is easy to fit that into the busy care of my family. I also manage to carve out a little time to read each day, and prefer to immersed myself in great classical works of literature, and also devote time to spiritual reading each day.

Spiritual Tradition: Roman Catholic
Favorite scripture is: Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Favorite saint: St Anthony of Padua
Favorite family tradition: Sundae Sunday's, and family night prayers at bedtime.
